  • Cronvangr Cave – Cave: Frostbite spiders and vampires hold this cave.
  • Darkshade – Cave: A troll cave in a copse east of Whiterun, near the border with Eastmarch. A Heavy Armor skill book is inside.
  • Darkwater Crossing – Settlement: Small mining settlement south of Windhelm, built around the corundum find that became Goldenrock Mine.
  • Eastmarch Imperial Camp – Military camp
  • Eldergleam Sanctuary – Cave: An underground grove and place of worship for followers of Kynareth, famous for the huge Eldergleam tree. A copy of Mystery of Talara, v 2 can be found here.

  • Morvunskar – Fort: A warlock fort led by Naris the Wicked.
  • Mzulft – Dwemer ruin: A large Dwemer ruin of automatons, Falmer and chaurus.
  • Narzulbur – Orc stronghold: Orc stronghold south-east of Windhelm. A copy of Heavy Armor Forging lies inside.
  • Palace of the Kings – Landmark: The Jarl's palace at the far end of Windhelm's Valunstrad district, with a map marker of its own. Wuunferth the Unliving trains Destruction upstairs, and the book The Knights of the Nine and an Unusual Gem are found here.
  • Refugees' Rest – Tower: A ruined Imperial tower where wild animals have settled.
  • Riverside Shack – Shack: A derelict shack where Treasure Map III and the book Rislav The Righteous can be found.

  • Windhelm Military Camp – Military camp: The Imperial camp for the assault on Windhelm, east of Brandy-Mug Farm.

Quests

  • A Blade in the Dark: Starts in Delphine's hidden room beneath the Sleeping Giant Inn in Riverwood, after you follow the note left in Ustengrav.
  • Joining the Stormcloaks: Go to the Palace of the Kings in Windhelm and speak to Ulfric Stormcloak, then to Galmar Stone-Fist. Reward: Stormcloak membership, Fur Boots, Fur Gauntlets, Hide Helmet, Stormcloak Cuirass and the title Unblooded.
  • Liberation of Skyrim: Starts by itself when the Battle for Whiterun ends; report to Ulfric Stormcloak in the Palace of the Kings, who names each hold in turn. Reward: Levelled weapons, armour and gold, a full set of Stormcloak Officer Armor, a Windhelm house to buy and the chance to become Thane of Windhelm.
  • The Battle for Fort Amol: Report to Legate Rikke at the Eastmarch Imperial Camp once your other assignments are done. Reward: Levelled gold.
  • Battle for Windhelm: Starts by itself when you return to Legate Rikke after the Battle for Fort Amol. Reward: A levelled enchanted sword and the option to buy Hjerim.
  • The Silver Hand: After a few more jobs Skjor asks you to meet him at the Underforge, below the Skyforge, at night. Reward: Beast Form, the power to become a werewolf.
  • Revealing the Unseen: Tell the Arch-Mage what the Augur said, then ask Mirabelle Ervine about the Staff of Magnus.
  • Summerset Shadows: Finish five small jobs for Delvin or Vex in Eastmarch, then ask Delvin about the special job in Windhelm. Reward: Niranye as a fence and influence in Windhelm.
  • Innocence Lost: Hear the rumour about a boy performing the Black Sacrament, then go to the Aretino Residence in Windhelm and talk to Aventus. Reward: A family heirloom plate.
  • Finn's Lute: Ask Inge Six Fingers at the Bards College whether she needs help, after Tending the Flames. Reward: One level in each of the six stealth skills.
  • Boethiah's Calling: From level 30, read the book Boethiah's Proving, carried by a cultist who attacks you on the road, or walk up to the Sacellum of Boethiah in the mountains east of Windhelm. Reward: Ebony Mail.
  • Blood on the Ice: After a few visits to Windhelm, come across guards and onlookers around a body in the graveyard at night, and offer to help. Reward: The Necromancer Amulet, and Hjerim can be fully furnished once you own it.
  • Rise in the East: Speak to Orthus Endario in the East Empire Company office on the Windhelm docks. Reward: Levelled gold; Adelaisa Vendicci becomes a follower.
  • The White Phial: Speak to the ailing alchemist Nurelion in his shop, the White Phial, in Windhelm. Reward: 5 gold from Nurelion, then 500 from his apprentice.
  • Repairing the Phial: Some time after The White Phial, once The Throat of the World is done, a courier brings a letter from Quintus Navale. Reward: The White Phial, refilled each day with the effect you choose.
  • Ansilvund: Enter Ansilvund, in the mountains of eastern Eastmarch. Reward: Ghostblade.
  • Mistwatch: Speak to Christer just inside the north tower of Mistwatch. Reward: Fjola's Wedding Band.
  • A Few Words with You: Speak to Scouts-Many-Marshes on the Windhelm docks.
  • Dungeon Delving: Speak to Shahvee at the Argonian Assemblage on the Windhelm docks.
  • Some Light Theft: Speak to Stands-In-Shallows at the Argonian Assemblage on the Windhelm docks.
  • Dungeon Delving: Speak to the smith Oengul War-Anvil by the forge in Windhelm's market.
  • Kill the Bandit Leader: Speak to Brunwulf Free-Winter in Windhelm.
  • Delivery: Speak to the writer Adonato Leotelli at Candlehearth Hall.
  • Fight! Fight!: Confront Rolff Stone-Fist, who spends his nights shouting at the Dark Elves of the Gray Quarter. Reward: 100 gold.
