Blood on the Ice

Question the witnesses, get the steward's leave to investigate and follow the blood to the empty house Hjerim and its hidden room. Then work out who the Butcher is. Name the wrong man and the killings go on.

  • Reward: The Necromancer Amulet, and Hjerim can be fully furnished once you own it

How to start

After a few visits to Windhelm, come across guards and onlookers around a body in the graveyard at night, and offer to help.

Collectibles from this quest

  • Necromancer Amulet – Amulet: The Strange Amulet found in Hjerim during Blood on the Ice. It shows its true name once the Butcher is caught, and is taken from his body.
