Solitude

Capital of Haafingar, built on a natural arch over the sea, with Castle Dour, the Blue Palace and the Bards College inside. Giraud Gemane teaches Speech up to Master at the College.

Quests here

  • Joining the Legion: Go to Castle Dour in Solitude and speak to General Tullius, then to Legate Rikke; Hadvar and other Imperial soldiers will also urge you to enlist. Reward: Imperial Legion membership at Auxiliary rank.
  • Get Outfitted: Starts once you have taken the Legion's oath, when General Tullius sends you to the blacksmith Beirand. Reward: A free set of Imperial Armor.
  • Reunification of Skyrim: Starts by itself when the Battle for Whiterun ends; report to General Tullius at Castle Dour, then take orders from Legate Rikke at each Imperial camp. Reward: Legion ranks, levelled items and levelled gold.
  • Battle for Solitude: Starts when you report back to Galmar Stone-Fist after taking Fort Hraggstad. Reward: A levelled enchanted sword and the Shrine of Talos restored in Solitude.
  • The Dainty Sload: Finish five small jobs for Delvin or Vex in Haafingar, then ask Delvin about the special job in Solitude. Reward: A merchant in the Ragged Flagon and influence in Solitude.
  • Bound Until Death: Astrid sends you to Solitude once the amulet has been sold. Reward: Gold, and a summoning spell if she dies mid-speech.
  • To Kill an Empire: Take the writ of passage to Astrid.
  • Contract: Kill Safia: Ask Nazir for a contract in the Sanctuary. Reward: Gold.
  • The Mind of Madness: Find the beggar Dervenin wandering the streets of Solitude and hear him out. Reward: Wabbajack.
  • Lights Out!: Speak to the Argonian Jaree-Ra, who loiters in the streets of Solitude. Reward: Whatever you take from the wreckers.
  • The Man Who Cried Wolf: Enter the Blue Palace while Varnius Junius is pleading with the court about lights at Wolfskull Cave, then speak to the steward Falk Firebeard. Reward: Levelled gold.
  • The Wolf Queen Awakened: Some time after The Man Who Cried Wolf, once you are level 10, a courier brings a letter from Falk Firebeard. Reward: Levelled gold and the Shield of Solitude.
  • Return to Grace: Speak to the girl Svari in Solitude after her uncle Roggvir's execution.
  • No News is Good News: Speak to Angeline Morrard at Angeline's Aromatics in Solitude.
  • Elisif's Tribute: After The Man Who Cried Wolf, speak to Jarl Elisif in the Blue Palace.
  • Kill the Vampire: Ask the court wizard Sybille Stentor in the Blue Palace for work.
  • Rare Gifts: Speak to Captain Aldis in the courtyard of Castle Dour.
  • The Spiced Wine: Speak to Evette San at her stall by the gates of Solitude. Reward: A bottle of spiced wine and a better price from then on.
  • A Few Words with You: Speak to Octieve San in Solitude.
  • Kill the Bandit Leader: Speak to the headsman Ahtar in Solitude.
  • Fit for a Jarl: Speak to Taarie at Radiant Raiment in Solitude. Reward: Gold, and the outfit is yours.
  • Dungeon Delving: Speak to the old scout Noster Eagle-Eye, who begs in the streets of Solitude.
  • Delivery: Speak to Sorex Vinius at the Winking Skeever.
