Forgotten Vale
A hidden valley of its own, cut off from the rest of Skyrim. It has a word wall for Drain Vitality, and Auriel's Shield is among its treasures.

How to get there
Reached only through Darkfall Passage, which opens off Darkfall Cave in the Reach.
Quests here
- Ancient Falmer Tomes (Dawnguard): Pick up any of the four Unknown Books in the Forgotten Vale and show it to Urag gro-Shub at the College of Winterhold. Reward: 1,000 gold per book and a translated copy.

- Haas (Health) of Drain Vitality: Word wall on the frozen lake of the Forgotten Vale, defended by the twin dragons Voslaarum and Naaslaarum.

- Auriel's Shield (Dawnguard) – Shield: Carried by a Falmer warmonger in the Forgotten Vale Forest, reached through the portal the Ruby Paragon opens.
- Amethyst Paragon (Dawnguard): Carried by a Frost Giant on the east bank where the river ends in a waterfall, north-west of the Wayshrine of Learning.
- Sapphire Paragon (Dawnguard): Carried by a Frost Giant above the Amethyst giant: take the path up the mountain from there and turn right toward the waterfall.
- Emerald Paragon (Dawnguard): Carried by a Frost Giant in a pen the Falmer have fenced off on top of the western canyon, past the Wayshrine of Resolution.
- Diamond Paragon (Dawnguard): Carried by a Frost Giant wandering among dead Falmer, on the mountain path just after you leave Glacial Crevice.
- Ruby Paragon (Dawnguard): Carried by a Frost Giant frozen in the Inner Sanctum, behind a door that only the Initiate's Ewer opens.
- Circlet of Waterbreathing (Dawnguard) – Circlet: On a Falmer shaman frozen in the ice at the north end of the Inner Sanctum in the Forgotten Vale.
- Auriel's Bow (Dawnguard) – Bow: Handed over by Knight-Paladin Gelebor in the Inner Sanctum at the end of Touching the Sky.
